RADAR TIRES MAKES LUCAS OIL OFF-ROAD RACING DEBUT THIS WEEKEND AT FIREBIRD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

Radar_Tires_logo_reverse_600_wide623bc4Singapore, 14 March 2013 – Radar Tires season of firsts continues this weekend as its makes another off-road racing debut but this time at the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series (LOORS) event at Firebird International Raceway on March 15-17.

Bronson Motorsports driver/owner Mike Johnson will pilot the No. 31 Bronson Motorsports Toyota Tacoma sponsored by Radar Tires in the ProLite Unlimited LOORS Class this weekend.  Johnson has previous LOORS racing experience, but this weekend marks his first race in the ProLite Unlimited Class.

Johnson and the team tested the race truck this week at Glen Helen. The test proved to be successful as the teams heads into the first short course off-road racing event the season.

“It’s good to be back short course racing,” Johnson said.  “I’m excited to be working with Radar Tires, as well as our other sponsors, in the upcoming 2013 Lucas oil off road racing series. Bob Patison and the rest of the Lucas Oil staff have done an amazing job building up this series and TV package. The racing should be really exciting this weekend, especially since there are 24 other trucks in our class.  Hopefully our Bronson/Radar team will be able to muscle through the crowded field and finish on the podium both days. If the tires and crew perform like they did at San Felipe, I like our chances.”

Johnson, Bronson Motorsports and Radar Tires continue the momentum from their 2013 debut off-road racing season following a successful SCORE San Felipe debut on March 10, finishing second in Class 10 on Radar Tires and winning the Mojave Off-Road Racing Enthusiasts (M.O.R.E.) New Years 200 race in Barstow, California, in January.

“It is early in the racing season, but we’ve built up some great momentum and are looking to leverage that this weekend in Arizona,” Johnson said. “The LOORS event is completely different than the M.O.R.E. and SCORE events, but we showed our competitiveness. We are racing for wins and solid results.”

Some of the Radar Tires used this weekend will feature the Breast Cancer Research Foundation pink ribbon logo.  For every Radar tire sold, Omni United will donate $5 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) with a minimum annual donation of $200,000.

The two-day event at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, Arizona, features Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Round 1 Saturday and Round 2 on Sunday.  Radar Tires, Bronson Motorsports and Johnson will compete in both races this weekend.

Off-road motorsports was chosen by the newly-formed Radar Racing team to showcase the Renegade R5 M/T tire, which features open blocks for mud dispersion, deep tread blocks, and reinforced shoulders.  This tread pattern and rigorous construction is ideal for the surfaces encountered on short course tracks such as Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California and Firebird Raceway in Chandler, Arizona as well as the open desert of Baja California in the legendary SCORE Baja 1000, the most iconic of all off-road races.
